VIDEO: TB Joshua Prophesied Barack Obama's Historic Re-Election 8 November, 2012 Local With news reverberating worldwide of Barack Obama’s historic re-election to office following one of the most closely contested election battles in American history, a video released on YouTube hours before results trickled in shows Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua had prophesied his historic victory. photo The video, released on Joshua’s official YouTube channel, ‘scoanTV’ and his Christian television station, Emmanuel TV, shows him talking about the battle for American Presidency on Sunday 6th May, a time when national polls were still projecting a relatively comfortable victory for Obama. “We should pray for President Obama,” Joshua said. “He should do something quickly on health care because they are going to use this against him. I will not say more than that. Because I see there will be wrestling. The battle will be very, very close. It’s not an advice. It’s what I am seeing on the board. It’s a vision.” Events in ensuing weeks, including a lackluster performance from Obama in the first presidential debate, saw his Republican rival Mitt Romney gain significant ground in public polls. Hot on the Republican agenda was President Obama’s recently imposed health care policy termed ‘Obamacare’, a policy Romney had pledged to repeal if elected to office. Speaking again on Sunday 4th November, Joshua specified his prayer was for the candidate who would promote peace and work internationally to bring unity. “The battle will be very, very close… Someone who will come out of the two who will be concerned about peace, bring unity and appeal to the nations all over the world and not continue with war – that is what the whole world needs now. That is my prayer. That is prophecy.” Joshua added persistent wars would result in nothing but ‘economic depression’. Prophet T.B. Joshua is well known for his prophetic messages. He is said to have recently prophesied the US Embassy attack in Libya, the deadly shooting at a Batman Premiere in a Colorado cinema as well as Nicolas Sarkozy’s defeat to Socialist Francoise Hollande in the French elections. His television station, Emmanuel TV, is extremely popular across Africa and Joshua has many African political heavyweights and celebrities among his admirers. Endure Okada Restriction, Fashola Advises Lagosians 9 November, 2012 Local Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola has urged residents of the state to endure inconveniences accompanying the implementation of the traffic law, especially the restriction of operators of commercial motorcycles, popularly known as okada. The governor spoke during the celebration of 2012 Community Day at the Police College, Ikeja on Thursday. He said the difficulties currently being experienced by commuters in the state were characteristics of the introductory stage of every life-changing policy. He added that the law would be of benefit to residents on the long-run. Fashola said, “There will be no gain without pain. You should be ready to sacrifice if you want reward. “We have inconvenienced you in the past because we are constructing roads, or drainages and within a short time, you will begin to drive on the roads and see your environment flood free. This is the way we can work together; sharing responsibility. The idea that everything should be done by the government is not an idea that is good. “The road traffic law is meant to keep you safe and alive. Okada will not be our transportation model in this state. Our state will not be a dumping ground for motorcycles. “What we want from residents is some sacrifice. When we were building BRT corridors a few years ago, people complained; but now the BRT has been accepted by everybody. “We seek understanding and sacrifice on the okada restriction. It is for the safety of lives. It for the state’s development.” The governor said the state would continue to explore ways to improve its transportation sector and tackle present challenges He added that the completion of the state’s light rail project would also boost the transport system. Meanwhile, Fashola has called on lawyers in the state to help poor residents of the state to get access to justice by giving them free services. The governor, at a public interest law partnership stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos on Thursday, said lawyers could provide the free legal services as a social responsibility and a service to humanity. He said, “A good number of indigent residents have been denied justice simply because they cannot afford legal services. This situation undermines the principle of equality before the law.” Fashola explained that the government established the Office of the Public Defender, Citizen Mediation Centre and others, as a response to the huge demand for free legal service. He added that the interventions were inadequate. “To fill the gap, the state government required the assistance of lawyers in the private sector through the Lagos State Pro Bono service, in delivering such services to the ever increasing population of the state,” he said.

A man was served with Jungle Justice after stealing ram during the Sallah celebrations.
We all know it is wrong to steal another man's property, be it a pen or ram, but the question still remains, is this the right way to deal with such issues?
Some people have said this is the best way to deal it as people don't seem to learn from past events e.g ALUU Boys, and still prefer to take the risk of stealing and damning the consequences.
View pictures below and share your take on this.

“We Will Seize Fire If Government Arrests Sheriff And Compensate Us” – Boko Haram

1 November, 2012
Local

Members of Jama’atul Ahlis Sunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad also known as Boko Haram have said they are now willing to seize fire and stop all atrocities being perpetrated by their group and work against other existing groups if the State and Federal Government will truly heed to their demands.
The acclaimed spokesman of the group, Abu Mohammed Ibn Abdulazeez, who doubles as the second-in-command (Amir) to their leader Imam Abubakar Shekau revealed this in a tele-conference with journalists in Maiduguri on Thursday stating that if the state and the federal government want the group to seize fire completely, then former Borno state governo,r Ali Modu Sheriff must be arrested and prosecuted according to the law of the land.
He also said that apart from the arrest of Senator Ali Sheriff, government should compensate the group and rebuild their places of worship which were destroyed during 2009 uprising.
Abu Abdulazeez further stressed that, all their members who were arrested and are under the custody of security agencies must be released with immediate effect, and all their wives who were displaced following the crises as well as their children must be rehabilitated into the society to create room for a fruitful dialogue with the Federal Government.
He pointed out that for a dialogue to take place, it must be through the following elders namely: Dr. Shettima Ali Monguno, Former Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari, former Yobe State Governor, Bukar Abba Ibrahim, Ambassador Gaji Galtimari and Barr Aisha Alkali Wakil and her husband, Barr, Alkali Wakil, insisting that the dialogue must not take place in Nigeria but Saudi Arabia, as according to him, the government of Nigeria is not sincere for dialogue due to its betrayal in the past.
Abu Abdulazeez also said that the group has mandated five members who are to mediate on their behalf; they include himself (Abu Mohammed Abdulazeez), Abu Abbas, Sheikh Ibrahim Yusuf, Sheikh Sani Kontogora and Mamman Nur
While speaking on the series of killings and unwantom destruction of property that took over Maiduguri recently, Abu Abdulazeez disassociated the group from such act, pointing out that such attacks were politically motivated by those seeking for power in the Borno Emirate council, government or otherwise, but not in line with the ideology of the sect who are fighting for the cause of Allah.
He also said that, the burning of old and newly constructed primary schools witnessed across the state were not masterminded by the sect, insisting that the burning of such places were carried out by aggrieved politicians who were denied contracts from the state government.

May D 'Dares' PSquare? Performs Chop My Money At Felabration

24 October, 2012
Arts and Entertainment

May D may or may not know what he has done; but the tides are already heating up and soon, there may be just another messy war between him and Square records barely two months after he was dropped by the label.
At Felabration 2012 held recently at the New Afrika Shrine, Akinmayokun May D Awodumila was one of the selected artistes to perform and indeed he performed.
May D threw caution to the wind and stormed the stage with P Square’s Do as I do which featured Tiwa Savage and himself.
He didn’t stop there as he went quickly into his award winning single Soundtrack before diving headlong into Chop my Money. May D wrapped up his act with his hit single Ile Ijo.
In all of P Square’s songs performed on this night, May D didn’t stick to his lines, rather, he took the entire songs from start from finish.
The crowd, however, didn’t seem to notice or perhaps were not bothered as they hollered and danced away the entire time.
Square Records boss Jude Engees Okoye had in a statement issued in August this year, announced that the label was severing ties with May D due to irreconcilable differences. A month later, May D launched own label Confam Entertainment.
His single Soundtrack fetched him the ‘Best R&B Single’ award at The Headies this year.

Prezzo travelled down to Nigeria, where he held a press conference and apologised to Nigerians, for how he treated Goldie in the BBA house.
Goldie also travelled to Kenya after then, before the pair were spotted holidaying together in New York. But she says everything “is a soap opera that will never come”.
“I am not dating Prezzo,” she said. “The state of things between us is the same state of things between me and anyone in Big Brother. We are all friends.
“I didn’t go to Kenya to see him. I went there for an event. People are just assuming there’s something going on between us because we are not speaking. Well, everybody is just working for the soap opera that will never come.”
Famous Nollywood Actress Has Been Diagnosed With HIV In India 25 October, 2012 Arts and Entertainment photo The story that Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu is critically ill is no more an issue. What is the boggling is the ailment she is suffering from. Following E24-7 magazine’s report in our story, "Help! Ngozi Nwosu Is Dying", published October1-7,2012, our office was inundated with several calls from fans, spiritualists and curious readers but recently a more shocking revelation on the true situation of the health of the once robust and beautiful actress who has over the last two months gone into recluse was disclosed. The source who pleaded anonymity and was formerly in the service of the Nigerian Medical Research Center, Yaba, Lagos as a nurse hinted she’s HIV positive. According to the source who was one of Ngozi`s medical counselors at the NMR, “Ngozi has been on medical surveillance since 2010. She is what I will call an HIV positive patient. Her kidney problem is as a result of her HIV complications. She used to visit the center on Wednesdays but we have not seen her for some time now” What about Talia’s eye popping gown at Headies 2012 in Nigeria Asked why Ngozi took off and shunned medical treatment, the source said, “Ngozi is a stubborn patient. I used to advise her to stop drinking and smoking as these habits won`t speed up her healing process fast. Worst of all, she does not take her drugs righteously. When a patient with HIV refuses to take recommended retro-viral drugs the person cannot get better. That is her problem. Mind you when she visited the center not quite before I left we found out her DN4 was so low that we immediately raised an alarm and told her to be cautious of her her health situations and advised her to do better in taking her drugs as required.” The source also revealed that some of Ngozi`s problem to her not getting well may be psychological, “You see when a patient has a troubled love life like Ngozi things will hardly get going for her. She is not a happy woman, having no husband and child, so her thoughts will always be negative and that will cause her more bad than good. She needs to retrace her steps to finding her healing and that is if she is not already a full AIDS patient.” Currently, Ngozi has kept away from public glare while some of her friends and movie colleagues are seeking financial assistance for her treatment. There are indications she has moved to neighbouring Cotonou, Benin Republic where her former husband comes from as her aides and handlers claimed during enquiry on phone. More troubling, are Ngozi`s recent pictures where she looks gaunt and pale. She has since neglected public functions and stopped appearing at movie locations.

‘How I Made Nicole Chikwe’s N1.7m Wedding Gown’ – Yemi Osunkoya

20 October, 2012
Arts and Entertainment

Of all the six notable celebrity weddings that have held this year, that of model-entrepreneur, Nicole Chukwueke and rapper, Naetochukwu Chikwe will be long remembered and this is not because of the romp it created but the rare exhibition of class and taste displayed by the couple in their choices of outfit for their big day.
The bride, Nicole proved to indeed a lady of class as she opted for the UK based Nigerian designer, Yemi Osunkoya of Kosibah Wedding Couture Bridal and Evening Wear, who of course did not disappoint. The choice of the snowy white fish tail dress, with a long train, proved to be just right, as it became a trending topic on blogs and news papers, days after the ceremony.
In an exclusive chat with NET, the designer, Yemi Osunkoya disclosed that the gown cost a total of £6,000 and the matching veil £850 which makes up a sum of £6,850 (N1,744,028). He added that the gown was completed in seven months, during which she had to come for fittings twice.
Osunkoya credited Nicole for the concept of the gown, which he, as a designer, had to interprete, ‘Nicole wanted a gown that would suit and flatter her figure in a light (in weight) lace fabric. Beaded Tulle was the best option. We also needed to keep the shoulders and arms covered for religious reasons’. The gown, he says was made of a beaded tulle lace over silk duchesse satin and the veil, of a silk tulle with hand stitched matching Lace edging.
Speaking further, Osunkoya says the gown was totally a Kosibah creation, which like the previous ones, always turned heads, ‘I had a meeting with Nicole where she gave me an idea of her ideal dress. She wanted an all lace fishtail gown with a long train.
After several sketches, the final design was agreed. I sourced several beaded Tulle laces and she selected the one she liked best. She flew in for her two fittings in calico. This ensured we got all aspects of the dress right. I flew into Lagos the day before the wedding and was there to dress her and ensure the dress looked right all day’.
He however added that Nicole’s status as a celebrity did not affect his service, ‘I didn’t realise who Nicole or Naeto C were until about two weeks before the wedding. I treat all my clients equally, so won’t have made any difference’, he told us

Tips: Shopping Tip List

Here's a list of tips you should consult when shopping online. Print this page and keep it in a handy place so it will be easy to review before you order.
  1. Trust your instincts. If you don't feel comfortable buying or bidding on an item over the web, or if you feel pressured to place your order immediately, maybe you shouldn't.

  2. Be knowledgeable about web-based auctions. Take special care to familiarize yourself not only with the rules and policies of the auction site itself but with the legal terms (warranties, refund policy, etc.) of the seller's items that you wish to bid on.

  3. Double check pricing. Be suspicious of prices that are too good to be true. Also consider carefully whether you may be paying too much for an item, particularly if you're bidding through an auction site. You may want to comparison shop, online or offline, before you buy. Make sure there are not extra shipping or handling costs.

  4. Find and read the privacy policy. Read the privacy policy carefully to find out what information the seller is gathering from you, how the information will be used, and how you can stop the process. If a site does not have a privacy policy posted, you may not want to do business with it. If it does have a privacy policy, there will probably be a link to it from the seller's home page, or it could be included with the Legal Terms.

  5. Review the return, refund, and shipping and handling policies as well as the other legal terms . If you can't find them, ask the seller through an e-mail or telephone call to indicate where they are on the site or to provide them to you in writing. See Legal Terms.

  6. Make sure the Internet connection is secure. Before you give your payment information, check for indicators that security software is in place. See Security.

  7. Use the safest way to pay on the Internet. Pay for your order using a credit card. See Payment.

  8. Print the terms. You should print out and date a copy of terms, conditions, warranties, item description, company information, even confirming e-mails, and save them with your records of your purchase. See Recordkeeping.

  9. Insure the safe delivery of your item. If you're concerned you may not be home when your package is delivered and that someone may take it if it is left on the doorstep, ask whether you can specify that the shipper must receive a signature before leaving the package. Or, it may be safer to have the package delivered to your office. See Delivery.

  10. Inspect your purchase. Look at your purchase carefully as soon as you receive it. Contact the seller as soon as possible if you discover a problem with it. Tell the seller in writing about any problems you have, ask for a repair or refund, and keep a copy of your correspondence. See Legal Terms.
